Which tea should I choose?
Matcha is finely milled green tea with a green, savoury character. Hojicha is roasted green tea, with a warm, toasted flavour suited to lattes. Genmaicha combines green tea and toasted rice for a nutty, roasted-rice flavour. Explore the preparation guide for a side-by-side comparison.
What is the difference between a tin and a refill?
A tin includes 30 g of tea in a sealed inner pouch and a reusable Hanacha tin. A single refill is one sealed 30 g pouch without a tin. A pack of three contains 3 × 30 g pouches (90 g in total). Open one pouch at a time.
Can I make these teas with milk?
Yes. Mix the powder with a little warm water first, then add your preferred milk. All three work hot or iced; our Hokage hojicha is chosen specifically for milk drinks. Start with the suggested measurements and adjust to your taste.
How do subscriptions work?
Choose one refill or a pack of three, select Subscribe and choose an available delivery frequency on the product page. The first delivery is charged at the regular price; subscription savings begin with the second delivery. The exact first and renewal charges are shown before you pay. Sign in to skip, pause, change your frequency or cancel before the next charge.
Can I mix subscriptions and one-time purchases?
Yes. Add both to the same bag. Only the items marked Subscription repeat. Checkout shows today’s total and each future delivery total separately, including delivery and packaging. Different subscription frequencies are shown as separate repeat deliveries.
Can I use a discount code on a sale or subscription?
Discount codes apply to eligible one-time items at their regular price. Sale items do not receive an additional coupon discount. Subscriptions use the regular price for the first delivery and the agreed subscription price for renewals; a product sale does not change an existing subscription.
Do the teas contain caffeine?
Matcha, genmaicha and hojicha naturally contain caffeine. We do not publish product-specific caffeine amounts because we do not have measurements for these teas.
What is in a gift set?
One to three 30 g tea tins, your chosen Japanese ceramic bowl, a bamboo whisk, bamboo tea scoop (chashaku) and preparation booklet. Choose warm cream or deep green for the gift box. Your selected contents and total are shown in the configurator.
How do I care for my bowl and whisk?
Hand wash the bowl, avoid sudden temperature changes and let it dry fully. Fresh Snow and Blushed Garden bowls are not dishwasher or microwave safe. Rinse the whisk with water, avoid detergent and allow it to air dry.
How much is delivery?
Delivery and packaging are calculated at checkout, before payment, using your order, delivery address and available service. Packing and dispatch happen before the carrier’s transit time begins; an Express service changes the carrier service, not the time needed to prepare your order.
